Good Monday everyone and thanks for dropping by KWC. The blog continues to experience some problems for those of you who use Internet Explorer. I am hopeful to get these corrected this week. Many folks have been hopeful to get some much needed rain across the state and it looks like Mother Nature will deliver. A nice little round of showers and storms will work across the state today into Tuesday.
The action now looks to be more prominent across central and eastern Kentucky today with only scattered stuff in the west. That’s a part of the state currently in a severe drought and they could sorely use some water. The rest of the state is taking a walk on the dry side, so today’s rain will be welcome.
Locally heavy downpours will be possible with some of the boomers that go up. You can follow along with the regional radar…
A cold front will work in from the northwest on Tuesday. This bad boy may crank up a few strong storms Tuesday afternoon and evening… especially if we break out into a little sunshine ahead of it.
A refreshing brand of air will then move back in for the middle and end of the week. Temps on Wednesday may stay in the 70s for highs. The GFS loves it some 70s…
Lows by Thursday morning may visit the upper 40s in some of the traditional cool spots across the state. The pleasant air should hang around through the end of the week.
I’m still not seeing signs of any big heat moving in anytime soon. The end of the month does have some potential to see some toasty temps around here, but the pattern right now isn’t too favorable for any major hot spells.
Have a great Monday and take care.
