Good Wednesday everyone. We have a winner of a weather day taking shape on this Wednesday. Sunny skies, lower humidity and below normal temps will combine to give us another September feeling day. June has been full of those, so far. Things are looking to shake it up a bit by the weekend as we close in on something close to hot.
Temps today will range from the middle 70s across the north to low 80s in the south and west. That’s not too shabby for the middle of June. Some upper 40s will be possible tonight and that may put a few spots within a few degrees of record lows.
The pleasant weather continues into Thursday as readings range from 80-85 with more in the way of sunshine. There may be a pop up shower or storm across the far southeast and that’s a trend that may increase through the upcoming weekend.
Temps are going to take off from Friday through Sunday with mid and upper 80s common across Kentucky. A few 90 degree readings are more than possible across the west. Again… some afternoon or evening storms may get cranking during this time.
The pattern for next week begins to get much more active across the lower 48. We will have one trough digging into the middle of the country by Tuesday. You can see this on the European Model…
That trough is rather anomalous during the summer and will be hard to keep it from working farther south and east by late next week and into the week of the 25th. Many of the models are rather bullish on this charge of cooler air. The GFS Ensembles from more than 10 days out have a strong signal…
