Good Tuesday everyone. Today’s the day we welcome back the 90s to much of the state. Folks in western Kentucky have been getting in on the 90s for the past few days and they have decided to share the heat with the rest of us. Glad to know you guys aren’t greedy. We have a mini heat wave going on through the middle of the week, but signs of relief continue to show up by late week and early next week.
The forecast for today is rather simple. Highs from 90-95 for much of the bluegrass state, high humidity levels, a decent breeze and plenty of sunshine.
Wednesday may end up being the hottest day of the week, but we may also see a shower or thunderstorm trying to pop. That’s especially the case across the east and southeast.
A cold front blows into town late Thursday and early Friday. This front should be able to touch off scattered showers and thunderstorms and will also drop our temps. Highs in the low and middle 80s look good for Friday and Saturday for many areas.
The heat will then surge back in on Sunday with 90 or better possible. This heat is ahead of a much stronger cold front that has the look of a severe weather producer. That will be followed by a heck of a push of cooler air into early next week. Take a gander at the European Model…
The Sunday into Monday setup looks like something from the wintertime with a big low forming across the northeast. The trough across the lakes into the northeast may try to hold its ground for a few days. Yes… this is the push of cool that I have been talking about here for more than a week. Don’t let me down European Model!
Have a great Tuesday and take care.
