Good Tuesday, folks. The weather around here is about to undergo a big change as we get closer to the weekend and it’s a change that will likely make many of you happy. Some mid September air is poised to engulf much of the eastern half of the country and that includes the bluegrass state.
The precious present will feature similar weather to what we had on Monday. Scattered showers and storms will be possible across southern and southeastern Kentucky with temps in the low to mid 80s. The northern half of the state will see temps in the mid and upper 80s under partly sunny skies. The west is its own beast right now because of the drought. Highs there will hit the 90s.
Wednesday will see many thermometers add a degree or two from what they have today. We may also see a slightly better shot for a stray storm across the board.
The real change begins on Thursday as showers and thunderstorms begin to increase ahead of a fall looking storm system. Take a look at how this bad boy looks on the European Model…
That’s a pretty sharp blast of cool air for the middle of August. It’s one that should be accompanied by a good shot of showers and storms into Friday as our winds crank up.
What about the temps? The GFS continues to advertise well below normal temps…
Now THAT is a taste of the good stuff!
Have a good Tuesday and take care.
