Good Wednesday everyone and thanks for dropping by KWC. You will be noticing some more changes to the site in the coming weeks as we continue to move forward and expand things. Sit back and enjoy the ride. The big weather news ahead of us is the shot of cool air blowing in by Friday. Getting to that point may become a problem with the threat for strong and severe storms.
Let’s begin with today and work forward. Highs will hit the upper 80s and low 90s across the central and east with upper 90s in the far west. The readings over the past few days have really shown what a difference drought verses a moist ground can make. That should do its thing once again today. I can’t rule out a scattered shower or thunderstorm going up.
The action kicks into high gear on Thursday as a potent system dives into the Ohio Valley from the northwest. This is being pushed by a blast of well below normal temps moving in from Canada. You can see the development of this system on the European Model…
That track and the dynamics associated with this storm continues to get my attention as it could mean an outbreak of severe weather for the Ohio Valley on Thursday. That is something we will need to keep a close eye on.
That fall looking storm system will have some early fall like temperatures behind it. Some parts of the state may see 70s for highs from Friday through Sunday with lows dropping into the 50s. The GFS is on the cool train…
Looks like September to me! We will have to watch for an instability shower over the weekend as that cold pool of air settles in.
Let’s have a little look ahead fun like we do about this time every year. The super duper long range CFS daily forecast wants to pull a little Halloween Trick on us this year…
“I’m dreaming of a white Halloween… just like the one I used to know in 1993″. Come on and sing it with me
Have a great Wednesday and take care.
