Near Record Highs Before A Cold Front

Good Tuesday and welcome to November. We are beginning the month with the potential for record highs across much of the bluegrass state. These temps are about to go bye-bye as a cold front drops in on Thursday. This begins a slow transformation in our overall pattern that kicks into high gear toward the middle and end of November.

Highs today and Wednesday will range from the upper 70s to low 80s. Some clouds will be noted and that can have local impacts on temps. There is even a small shower chance in the east.

The cold front blowing in on Thursday will have gusty winds and a decent shot of showers and thunderstorms…

Temps fall into the 50s by the afternoon as the front swings through here. The numbers behind that front continue to come down. Check out the GFS forecast…

This weekend will feature readings in the 60s for highs, with low 70s in the far west. Overnight lows can drop into the 30s. Overall, it looks like another great weekend.

The European Model is picking up on changes late on Election Day into the middle of next week. Watch this upper level system close off right on top of us…

That’s a pocket of cold air pushing into the region…

If the upper levels are correct, I would think we get a bigger storm system to develop than what we are seeing on the model. The GFS is picking up on a similar setup with a bigger storm…

As we move into this transitional phase, expect lots of big model swings in the coming days.

Make it a great day and take care.
