A Summer Setup Follows The Heavy Rain

Good Saturday, everyone. Rounds of heavy rain are rolling across the region today as much cooler air settles in for a few days. Once we get rid of the weekend rains, an early¬†summer looking temperature pattern pushes in for next week. It’s a pattern that will also come with the threat for some strong or severe storms.

There isn’t much more I can say about the heavy rainfall out there today. It may be enough to cause some local high water issues, especially across the southern half of the state. Temps will be on the cool side of things, with a borderline chill in the air…

There appears to be window of dry times settling in this evening. That could be good news for Thunder Over Louisville and all the proms scheduled for tonight.

Wraparound showers will be with us on Sunday, with the greatest concentration across the south and east. Temps will continue to be cool in these areas, but some recovery is likely in the west and north.

Monday will see clouds clearing the state with temps returning to the upper 60s and low 70s. Near 80 degree highs will be noted on Tuesday and Wednesday, ahead of a cold front. Some strong storms will be possible with this front by late Wednesday…

Temps won’t come down behind that. If anything, they should increase. Check out the forecast highs for next Friday…

Any day that keeps clouds and storms away can see thermometers make a run at 90. Wow.

With that warm and juicy air in place, a system working in from the west could touch off severe storms next weekend…

This is all part of a very stormy setup from the plains states into our part of the world. The two week rainfall look from the Ensembles show this well…

Make it a great Saturday and take care.
