More Boomers Start The Weekend

Good Saturday, everyone. A ton of rain has fallen across the region over the past several days and the wet weather continues into the start of the weekend. From there, we focus on another potent system moving in early next week, bringing more storms and a taste of September temps.

Rounds of showers and storms will be out there today, especially in the central and east. Given how much rain has fallen of late, it won’t take much more water to cause local flooding issues to develop, so watch the creeks and streams.

Track away…

Sunday looks a little better with a partly sunny sky and just some scattered storms. The best threat of storms will be across the southern half of the state.

A very potent storm system develops in the Mississippi Valley on Monday and slides into the Great Lakes, bringing a strong cold front into our region by Tuesday. Showers and thunderstorms increase during this time, with the potential for more high water issues and a few severe storms…

That’s a setup you just don’t see this time of year… You just don’t.

The air behind this front is much cooler than normal, bringing us a taste of mid and late September temps…

Afternoon temps will likely stay way down in the 70s for a day or two…

Overnight lows make a run toward the low 50s on a couple of mornings. Bring. It. On.

Have a great day and take care.
