Good Friday to one and all. Summertime continues to put in some overtime as our warm and humid pattern continues through early October. This muggy air is also being accompanied by a few showers and thunderstorms into the upcoming weekend. That said, changes are brewing next week as the pattern starts to flip around with a boost from the tropics.
We have a front stalled across the state today, but it’s heading back to the north as a warm front. This will keep scattered showers and storms going up…
The weekend continues to look warm and humid as temps stay in the 80s for highs. A few showers and storms will go up from time to time. With all the humidity, don’t be surprised to see a cloudburst or two showing up in a few spots.
Things get interesting in a hurry next week as our cold in the west starts to finally head east. This does so at the exact same time most models develop a tropical system in the Gulf of Mexico. Those two have a chance of hooking up in our part of the world, bringing the chance for another dose of tropical rains our way.
The Canadian Model was the first to suggest the idea and it keeps rolling with it…
The new version of the GFS is also showing something similar…
Obviously, we have some time to watch and see how this setup evolves over the next week. There is the potential for a good amount of rain to fall during the middle and end of next week, unleashing the real deal fall feel.
Have a great Friday and take care.
