Winter Weather Advisory

Good evening, folks. As expected, another winter weather maker is on the way to much of the state later tonight and into Friday. This is a fairly light system, but it will have enough freezing rain and light snow to cause travel issues for many areas.

A Winter Weather Advisory is out for much of the state and region during this time…

Here’s a look at a rough outline of what to expect through Friday…

Icy roads are a real possibility to begin the day Friday. Cancellations and delays are likely for a third straight day.

The first flakes may fly in the north before the evening is over. Here’s regional radar to track that action…

Temps rebound very quickly this weekend with 50 on Saturday and near 60 on Sunday. Winds will be gusty as that southwest flow kicks in. This will also lead to mild weather hanging tough into early next week. That same flow also means an increase in showers and a few thunderstorms.

Another surge of arctic air dives into the country by the middle of next week. This brings an arctic front into Kentucky around the middle of the week and that may very well have winter weather showing up behind it. The setup is there for several systems.

The new version of the GFS continues to latch on the potential…

The last two runs of the European Model are showing something similar…

Make it a great evening and take care.
