Two Big Storm Systems Ahead

Good Friday, folks. A cold front is working into the region today and is slamming on the brakes. That allows for a storm system to develop and roll into our region over the weekend. That’s the first of two big storm systems I’m tracking over the next week.

Today’s cold front has a decaying band of showers and storms with it. This action ends quickly from west to east with a mix of sun and clouds to follow. Temps will be in the upper 60s to low 70s. Here’s regional radar to track the action…

A potent storm system develops across Texas later tonight into Saturday and will roll toward the Ohio Valley over the weekend. A few showers and storms may stream in here on Saturday, with the bulk of the action coming Saturday night into Sunday. Heavy rain and strong storms are possible during this time. Here’s the Sunday Severe Weather Outlook from the SPC…

The western half of the state will see the heaviest rain from this mess, with the possibility of local high water issues developing.

Cooler air moves in for Monday, but temps rebound VERY quickly by Tuesday and Wednesday. Southwest winds kick in ahead of the next major storm system to impact our region. This could bring another round of heavy rain and strong storms with colder air to follow…

A lot of rain is going to fall across Kentucky over the next 7 days.

Have a great Friday and take care.
