Strong Storms and Heavy Rains Return

Good Sunday, everyone. Our stormy setup didn’t stay away too long as it’s back in a big way. Rounds of showers and thunderstorms are flaring up again today and this is going to lock in for the long haul. It’s a setup that may throw strong to severe storms at us, along with putting down a ton of rain.

As mentioned, today’s storms come at us in waves. Each wave has the potential to bring hail and high winds. Here’s today’s Severe Weather Outlook from the SPC…

The forecast is pretty straight forward from here as rounds of showers and thunderstorms continue to target the region for the foreseeable future. Heavy rainfall will likely cause some flooding issues from time to time over the next few weeks. The rainfall numbers continue to be off the charts…

The Ensembles continue to be all aboard the rain train during this same time. Check out how much of our region is forecast to have above normal rains during this time…

This above normal rain pattern is because we are stuck in a temperature battle zone between warmth in the southeast and the cool just to our west and north…

That looks a lot like the same temperature pattern we’ve been stuck in for more than a year now. It’s no wonder record setting rains have been common around here.

Here are your Sunday tracking tools to get you through the day…

Make it a great day and take care.
