Tracking A Few Weekend Storms

Good Saturday, everyone. It’s the weekend and our weather pattern continues to roll with more in the way of showers and storms of the scattered variety. This action may ramp up just a bit compared to the past few days and is likely to carry us into early next week. That’s ahead of a powerful cold front  that arrives by the second half of the week, bringing a much cooler brand of air into town.

Today’s storms are fairly scattered and will mainly impact areas of central and eastern Kentucky. Within this region, the best chance is across the south and southeast. Locally heavy downpours will be possible with any storm that goes up, but not everyone will see rain today. Your tools in a few.

Sunday will feature more of the same before we start to shake it up a bit.

The setup for next week is becoming more clear as the potential tropical system in the Atlantic looks like a non player. That pretty much gives the jet stream free run to drive cold fronts into the eastern half of the country…

That’s an active setup, but one that has a lot of cooler air to work with. Watch those dips in the jet stream on the GFS…

The European agrees..

So do the European Ensembles…

That would certainly make for a nice run of VERY pleasant temperatures for this part of the world.

Once again, I leave you with your storm tracking tools…

Make it a great Saturday and take care.
