Mid-Week Thoughts

Good evening, folks. We continue to track mainly dry weather across the region for the next several days. Notice I say “mainly dry”. That’s because there is a cold front sweeping in here late Thursday and it brings a shower chance and the potential for a few Friday flakes.

Once we get into next week, the pattern gets pretty active.

Let’s start things out with our late Thursday front. Winds are going to be gusty with this bad boy as temps spike ahead of it and drop behind it. A gusty shower is possible along our front, with a northwest wind kicking up a few flakes of snow across eastern Kentucky on Friday…

That is going to drop a ton of snow in the high mountains of West Virginia!

After a frigid Saturday morning, temps rebound into the upper 40s to low 50s for many.

Sunday looks amazing with temps hitting the 60s with a partly sunny sky. This kicks off what looks like a pretty mild period through the middle of the month. Check out the temperature anomalies from the EURO…

The same model is also turning pretty wet and stormy next week. The rainfall numbers bear out the active pattern…

Woot! 🙁

Enjoy your evening and take care.

Much better through the weekend

Good Wednesday, folks. It’s another windy and mild March weather day taking shape, but a brief shot of colder air is on the way. This may also bring a small chance for some drops or even some flakes across the east, but much of the forecast is dry through Sunday.

Your Wednesday weather will see sun and clouds showing up as winds crank to around 30mph at times. Temps range from the upper 50s to low 60s for most.

A cold front arrives on the scene late Thursday and there’s the chance for a shower of rain or snow in the east Thursday night and early Friday…

Colder winds will blow on Friday as temps struggle in the low and middle 40s.

The weekend looks pretty darn awesome! Highs recover into the upper 40s to low 50s for Saturday then head toward the low 60s.

The next round of showers and storms arrives by Monday and could be on and off for a few days.

The Ensembles continue to point toward a much milder pattern through the middle of the month…

That doesn’t mean we won’t have a few cold shots thrown into the mix, but it does suggest it’s a milder overall setup on average. #teamspring

I will throw you an update this evening. Until then, make it a good one and take care.
