Severe Threat Before A BIG Change

Good Tuesday, everyone. We have a pretty active setup on hand for Today and Wednesday as we track the potential for severe storms. This is ahead of a powerful cold front that wipes out the spring warmth and replaces it with a much colder look.

Let’s begin with the severe threat late today into tonight. Clusters of strong to severe storms will develop and roll from northwest to southeast across the region. Damaging winds, large hail and a few tornadoes will be possible. The best chance will be across northern parts of the state.

Here’s the current Severe Weather Outlook from the Storm Prediction Center…

The severe risk continues into Wednesday…

Much colder air comes in behind this with highs in the 50s for Thursday and a frost threat by Friday morning.

Another system then rolls our way with some ugly over the weekend…

The Euro then follows that up with a winter looking storm early next week…

What in the name of world wide sports is going on around here?

The Euro Ensembles continue to show a colder than normal pattern over the next few weeks…

Frost and freezing conditions look likely from time to time and I can’t rule out some rare mid April flakes. 🙁

I will have the latest on WKYT-TV starting at 4pm. Here are all your severe weather tracking tools to take you through the event…
