Good Thursday, everyone. The old saying “it doesn’t get much better than this” is certainly appropriate for the forecast over the holiday weekend. This 4th of July will likely be one of the nicest we’ve ever had around here. Cool temps, low humidity levels and sunny skies will make for the perfect weather trio.

The cold front bringing the nice weather is rolling to our southeast today. I am watching a weak upper level system that is likely to spawn a few showers today. Winds will be gusty with highs in the 70s.

Lows over the next few mornings are absolutely chilly for this time of year…

GFS Record lows are within reach in the coming days.

Highs for the 4th will run in the upper 70s for most of central and eastern Kentucky. Sunny skies will carry us into Saturday and Sunday with temps returning to the 80s.

Showers and storms begin to crank up early next week as we go back into a pattern featuring rounds of showers and storms. We get a cold front to move in by the middle of next week…

That will deliver another round of decent temps, but may also keep the storm chances going through the week as it checks up.

Make it a great day and take care.
