Good Tuesday, folks. The calendar shows that it is July, but the overall weather pattern has made it feel more and more like September. This is a setup that doesn’t look to change anytime soon… maybe not until it actually IS September. 🙂
Our day is likely to start with record or near record lows. Upper 40s to low 50s will be a good bet in many areas to begin the day if we can keep the clouds and fog away. Our day will likely start mainly clear with clouds quickly developing. Those clouds could produce isolated showers. Winds will be rather gusty with highs ranging in the low to middle 70s.
Today’s Lows
Current Temperatures
Wednesday should feature more of the same with temps back in the 70s and the chance for a few afternoon showers. The shower chances will increase later this week into the weekend with a few thunderstorms joining the mix. Highs will continue to average below normal.
Those below normal temps look to continue into early August…
The longer range CFS takes us into the middle of September and shows much of the country well below normal between now and then…
Make it a great day and take care.
Louisville beats record low easily…Frankfort another record…Lexington too.
Add Covington to that list as well. 50 degrees as of last check. Broke the old record that was set way back in 2013.
I have absolutely zero complaints about the weather. I hate the heat and love the fall so this is 100% perfect to me! Keep it here, Chris. Until November, then we can talk snow ok? 🙂
Meanwhile on the other side of the world:
http://news.msn.com/world/japan-heatwave-kills-15-thousands-hospitalised
that report said 95 degrees F? I wonder what the heat index was? Must have been terribly humid.
And at the bottom it says this normal for Japan to have these temperatures.
is normal
Average temperature in Tokyo is around 85 in July and 88 in August. Like you said Mark humidity had to be off the charts. 95 degrees would not be uncommon there.
Thanks to Twitter for tipping me off to this, from the daily climate report yesterday for Denver:
THE FOLLOWING WEATHER WAS RECORDED YESTERDAY.
THUNDERSTORM
TORNADO
What happens in September? Do we get heat or cold?
I say bring on the snow.
What’s November looking like
C.B?
What a perfect weather day it has been.Never got above 74 here all day.I did yard work, even trimmed a couple of trees and stayed comfortable the whole time.Tonight the little nip in the air feels so much like its going to be frost on the pumpkin time.
I am loving it but a bit concerned that we are going to end up having 6 or 7 months of winter.Last winter about done me in emotionally so I am planning for this one a lot more carefully in case it is a long one again.
I too am curious as to the forecast past the cool downs.Waiting to find out if a heat wave will hit us before Fall.
Why is Louisville sitting at 70 degrees officially while others are in the mid 50’s? Anyone? Anyone? Cause the official temperature is kept at a major airport, how dumb is that!?! Makes no sense with absolutely zero logic.
