Good Tuesday, everyone. Fall is at its absolute finest this week as gorgeous weather continues throughout Kentucky and much of the region. While the weather is nice now, I’m focusing on the potential for a active pattern getting started.

The weather forecast for the rest of the week into the start of the weekend is simple. It’s nice with mild afternoons and crisp mornings.

The transition to the active pattern looks to begin late this weekend or early next week as we watch for a Gulf system. The models continue to show something developing there (tropical or not) and then working northward toward our region. They just differ from run to run on where and when.

We will have to wait and see what happens with this system, but some tropical rains are possible into early next week.

Things continue to amp up by the middle and end of next week as October looks to start with some big systems swinging across the country. Check out the European Model forecast…

That’s a big drip in the jet stream that leads to a classic fall cold front sweeping in from the west…

The GFS has a similar look, but is a little slower…

With that active pattern ramping up, it could lead to another period of fairly wet weather around here. It could also unleash some cold shots of air.

Make it a great day and take care.
