Good Wednesday evening, gang. Our old friend the GFS is trying to hand out a few tricks for Halloween with it’s latest run. Check this out…
Yes, that particular model run would throw some snow our way Halloween night…
Is that going to happen? The odds are very, very, very, very low of us getting snow on Halloween. I think that run is more of a trick than a treat to snow lovers. 🙂
Enjoy your evening and take care.
Gotta love the GFS it has tons of winter spirit. I’ve said this before if the GFS was accurate with snowfall we would average 60 inches of snow every year. lol
Yay…let the fun and games begin.
I know, right? It *never* snows in *KY* in *October* a *week before*, or even right *around Halloween*. GFS you so cray cray.
Lexington and Louisville are the usual warm spots no surprise there. lol Go 1/4 mile either direction of both airports and there is a 4 to 5 degree cooler temp difference. I know I know the NWS seems to think that we all live at the airport.
Blue Grass Airport is surrounded miles of horse farms. There is no heat island impact there. The issue in Lexington did not arise until they placed a new temp sensor there in the spring of 2013. It’s wrong and it’s wrong by several degrees. Pretty amazing the NWS refuses to replace it.
Wouldn’t a warmer inaccurate reading be bad to have at an airport in the winter in some instances?
If I was a TV met In Lexington or Louisville I would not even curiosity the reading at the airport its completely inaccurate information temp wise
Actually, LEX has ALWAYS been a cold spot…with readings 2-4 degrees colder than every other station in central KY on most days. It’s been that way for at least 30 years that I know of.
CB, it’s enough to drive you nuts and rightfully so. lol
OLD SCHOOL A COMING!!!!!!!!!!!
