Good Saturday to one and all. As many of you now know… my stay at WKYT has been extended by a few days as I will be working again Monday and Tuesday evenings. I did get the chance to go visit TG in the hospital last night and he is doing much better. We certainly hope he continues to improve. As far as the weather goes… this could be a record setting cool weekend across the area.
I will keep this post rather brief as I have had a very long day. Before I get into the headlines… here is a map of the current temps from Kentucky Mesonet…
Headlines time…
1. Record low high temps will be possible out there today. Low 70s look to be good for highs in many areas. If we can get enough clouds to form… a few spots could stay in the upper 60s. There is a small chance for a shower.
2. Clouds will clear out overnight and this could lead to record setting lows for Sunday morning. Upper 40s to low 50s will be possible. Incredible for the middle of July!!
3. Sunday and Monday will see a chance for an afternoon shower or two with highs still well below normal in the mid to upper 70s.
4. Temps will finally begin to warm toward the 80s again by the middle of next week. The problem is that we are likely to see an increase in humidity that can lead to some more showers and storms.
5. Another trough will dig in across the eastern part of the country by the end of next week into the weekend and this may bring more cool air and more wet weather to us during this time.
I do want to say thanks to each of you for all the nice comments, emails and phone calls about my return to WKYT. It amazes me that so many people are happy to see me back on their tv’s again. Thank you!!
Have a great Saturday and take care.

The wedding was perfect. Remarkably cool for this time of year but perfect. This is the first outside wedding I have had this year – which is unusual but so has our weather been. 🙂 Got another outside one today – should be another perfect one!
Chris, I was able to catch you on the 11 last night. Sure was good to see you. You look like you have lost a lot of weight. Thought it was TG there for a minute with your head. lol
It was great seeing you on WKYT! Even my 9 yr old was glad to see you. He asked if Bailey was coming back for good. Thanks for all that you do, it is appreciated.

It was great to see you on WKYT yesterday. You seemed right at home again. We are loving this weather that you brought with you. Nice weather to get out of the house and enjoy with friends.
today is incredible for the hottest time of year. humidity is low breeze is keeping it feeling very cool, in two months we can get this for a prolonged time frame but in a day or two its back to reality 🙁
Picked green beans in the garden this morning & thought it was pumpkin weather.

It is always good to have you back in Lexington. Can we keep you? Love the team at WKYT but so many of us have trusted in your weather knowledge for so long that we want you back as part of the team. I am a cold weather person and love this glimpse of fall!! Come home anytime…you will always be warmly welcomed.
The cool air has been nothing short of incredible today.
Chris don’t you know by now you are our HERO…..
I had bought a couple of cute sleeveless tops on vacation that I’ve been dying to wear. TODAY wasn’t the day to do it! Does someone have to tell mother nature this is JULY!
