Good Saturday to one and all. As many of you now know… my stay at WKYT has been extended by a few days  as I will be working again Monday and Tuesday evenings. I did get the chance to go visit TG in the hospital last night and he is doing much better. We certainly hope he continues to improve. As far as the weather goes… this could be a record setting cool weekend across the area.

I will keep this post rather brief as I have had a very long day. Before I get into the headlines… here is a map of the current temps from Kentucky Mesonet…

Headlines time…

1. Record low high temps will be possible out there today. Low 70s look to be good for highs in many areas. If we can get enough clouds to form… a few spots could stay in the upper 60s. There is a small chance for a shower.

2. Clouds will clear out overnight and this could lead to record setting lows for Sunday morning. Upper 40s to low 50s will be possible. Incredible for the middle of July!!

3. Sunday and Monday will see a chance for an afternoon shower or two with highs still well below normal in the mid to upper 70s.

4. Temps will finally begin to warm toward the 80s again by the middle of next week. The problem is that we are likely to see an increase in humidity that can lead to some more showers and storms.

5. Another trough will dig in across the eastern part of the country by the end of next week into the weekend and this may bring more cool air and more wet weather to us during this time.

I do want to say thanks to each of you for all the nice comments, emails and phone calls about my return to WKYT. It amazes me that so many people are happy to see me back on their tv’s again. Thank you!!

Have a great Saturday and take care.
