Good Wednesday, everyone. April is off and running on a very nice note with mild temperatures and plenty of sunshine. This nice weather won’t last very long as showers and thunderstorms begin to increase on Thursday and kick into high gear for Friday.

Highs today will likely be a few degrees cooler than what we had on Tuesday. The west and south may hit 70 or a little better with middle 60s in the north and east. Skies will continue to stay partly to mostly sunny.

Moisture will quickly increase for Thursday and that means scattered showers and thunderstorms increase. We will have to watch the late afternoon and evening hours for the potential for some stronger storms popping. The Hi-Res NAM simulated radar…

Showers and thunderstorms will then ramp up even more as we head into Friday. That’s when we see low pressure working into the Ohio Valley with a strong cold front zipping through the area…

EuroThat setup could give us the potential for some strong thunderstorms to go along with heavy rain numbers. Something to keep a close eye on.

Winds will be VERY gusty during this time and could reach 40mph at times… without thunderstorms.

Much colder air sweeps into town Friday night into Saturday morning. A few models are back to showing a few snowflakes during this same time.

All of this action moves to our east early Saturday with afternoon temps struggling into the low 50s on a chilly northwesterly wind. Easter Sunday looks much better with temps in the 30s to start and low 60s to end.

That takes us into a very warm and stormy period for next week. Temps may make a run at 80 degrees with rounds of showers and thunderstorms developing. Big boomers will be possible.

Enjoy your day and take care.
