Good Sunday and Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. Momma nature is giving you a hot and humid day with temps well into the 80s, again. She may even throw in a few thunderstorms just to be nice. The storm action will increase on Monday as a strong cold front works in from the west.
Any storm that goes up out there today could be on the strong side. These storms will be rather scattered in nature, and some areas won’t even see anything.
That will change up on Monday as our front approaches. Warm and very juicy air is ahead of this boundary with cooler and drier air behind it. This could lead to a few severe storms going up. Here’s the threat area…
Some leftover showers will be around Tuesday as the front works through. Temps will be in the 70s for highs, but only in the upper 60s and low 70s by Wednesday. Lows may drop into the middle 40s for many.
After a pleasant middle of the week, the threat for showers and storms will return as we head into the end of the week and weekend…
That should unleash another round of very warm and humid weather across our part of the world…
I leave you with a dose of Mother’s Day weather tracking toys…
Have a good one and take care.
I’ve had the A/C running the past couple weeks but it doesn’t bother me that I do because it costs FAR less to run A/C than it does to run the furnace. My total electric bill during the summer is 1/2 to maybe 1/3 of what it is January or February.
OMG I wish people would stop complaining that it’s HOT!!! I am not turning on the AC before June!!!
How bad are the storms going to be Monday? No tornado weather I hope. Thank you Chris for all you do to keep us safe.
Thanks Chris. Not complaining about anything. Just want to see a lite rain. It’s a little early for the heat, but, I’ll take it rather than the extreme cold of the winter. I have enjoyed the dry days but we could use a bit of rain. Beautiful out there today. Hope everyone has a great Sunday and want to say Happy Mothers Day to all the moms out there.
Now this is my kind of weather. If your hot, put on some shorts and a t-shirt! Beach weather. 🙂
Give me these hot steamy days 100 times over those gray crappy 30 degree cloudy freezing junk of winter!
