Good Thursday, everyone. We have one more nice day in store for the region before things turn steamy and stormy over the next several days. While that’s happening… I’m already tracking another big cool shot coming your way next week.
Today will feature temps warming from southwest to northeast with many thermometers into the mid and upper 70s for highs. Some low 80s will also be possible in the south and west. Humidity levels and clouds will also increase later in the day.
Moisture will continue to stream in from the southwest for Friday into Saturday. That means scattered showers and storms going up each day…
That’s a trend that carries us into Sunday as weekend highs settle into the upper 70s to low 80s. Any storm that develops this weekend could contain a lot of lightning and torrential rains. Still… This does not look like a washout.
A cold front will move in on Monday with more in the way of showers and thunderstorms. This front is being pushed by a very chilly air mass…
That’s from the European Model and would mean temps dropĀ WELL BELOW normal for the middle and end of next week. That same model run has crazy cool highs for next Wednesday…
If the European Model is correct… it would suggest the possibility of some patchy frost developing. That’s a big IF from a week away.
Have a great Thursday and take care.
Hoping many areas can at least pick up some decent showers and downpours this weekend and early next week. Things are looking very dry in the Lawrenceburg/Frankfort area.
Amazing that even after all the heavy rain of the past few months, we are now dry. The spigot needs to be turned back on for a bit.
Sounds like a good forecast to me. Don’t we still have “blackberry winter” left to go yet?
We are very dry in SE KY. Although we did get a good amount of rain in April, we did not see the abundant rainfall that most of Central KY and even parts of Eastern KY got; 5.25 here at my house for April monthly total. Now I have only recorded 0.04 inches of rain since April 26th. We are definitely getting dry down near Harlan, KY!
I noticed Witchita Falls Texas, and other areas of Texas, which has been in extreme catastrophic drought, are really getting some major relief from all these rains they have had. I don’t think this area has ever had drought anywhere near the level that they have had to deal with, even in our worst droughts…….I could be wrong……
