Good Tuesday, everyone. Rounds of showers and storms have been common over the past few weeks and that pattern shows little sign of changing. With the stormy setup comes a continuation of the cooler than normal weather we’ve been seeing of late.
Today’s weather will feature another system diving in from the northwest. Just like Monday, storms will develop as the day wears on and some could be strong or severe. These storms will also be capable of putting down a ton of rain that can lead to localized stream and street flooding.
Storms will continue to target the lower Ohio Valley into the Tennessee Valley over the next several days. The latest 7 day rainfall forecast from the WPC…
Exact totals will depend on, of course, where the strongest storms set up. Regardless, that shows the potential for too much rain for some areas over the next week.
With the storm chance comes more below normal temps. Here are the highs from the European Model…
Normal highs should be in the mid and upper 80s across the entire region. Temps may get back toward normal for a few days into early next week. That probably won’t hang around long as odds favor another deep trough digging into the eastern part of the country my mid week. The European Model…

Have a great Tuesday and take care.
The Iron Dome of Severe Weather hangs tough over my head… Sometimes I think if I moved to Oklahoma, wherever I live will experience a tornado drought!
That’s a good thing!!!
I understand your pain and suffering; I have spend most of my life feeling the same way…when it comes to the weather (lack of interesting weather)…of course.
spent…sorry
Looking at the map would indicate 3″ of rain over 7 days for Berea. We just had 3″ in about 90 min. the other day in our #severenotsevere storm. Stretching that over 7 days is just fine.
If it were possible for severe weather to exist in only the limited spacial dimension around YOUR homes, I’d certainly join you all in praying that you get everything you always wanted and so much more. 😉
Thanks Chris. I don’t mind a good storm but I can do without tornados. No offense, but those are something I can do without very easily. We got a pretty good storm yesterday but never saw severe limits, which was fine and dandy. I do hope we get good summer temps though as I like my seasons to behave properly.
We’ll have to keep an eye out this afternoon again so it’s going to be interesting. Have a great Tuesday everyone.
Our poor Shih Tzu started her run through the house before we heard the first crack of thunder. When she started the run we gave her a half of a of an alergy pill. It helps with calming her done. As for the weather we had one heck of a lightning storm and a ton of rain for a short amount of time.
OMG! Speaking of something similar. My cat Leo is terrified of thunder and the sound of rain hitting the roof. I was taking a nap yesterday during the storm and when he hears rain or thunder he runs to wherever I am, and usually covering him with a blanket calms him down and he stays there until it’s safe to come out. Well, I was asleep and I heard him jump on the bed to get under the covers and he P-ee-d all over my bed! I spent hours cleaning it with enzyme cleaner and my bissell deep cleaner…99 percent of the time he doesn’t do that, even in the worst storms. But over ten years, this is the 2nd or 3rd time he’s done it from fright!
I am so sick of severe weather ! I am ready for dry summer weather !
i dont mind the rain . its good on the gardens. dry weather is not good for gardens, as city water is not near as good on em as rain water.
Definitely a stormy afternoon underway in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area. Looks like it will persist for a while.
Also I have never seen so many Mesoscale Discussions put out at one time…even during a major outbreak.
Hot here in Paris today, (Not Bourbon county – the Other Paris.) even hotter tomorrow I am told… We return in a few days so I expect sunny and mild… Got it?
