Good Tuesday, everyone. This is some awesome fall weather we’re having across the bluegrass state. The good stuff rolls on through Thursday, then some changes blow in on Friday. That’s when a cold front sweeps across the region.
Between now and then… the forecast is straight up gorgeous. Cirrus clouds will mask the sun from time to time, but that’s very typical of this time of year. Highs will generally run in the 70s with lows in the 50s.
The cold front moves in on Friday with gusty winds and showers increasing…
That system will be accompanied by a nice little drop in temps with readings in the 60s for highs behind the boundary. Lows by Sunday morning will be downright chilly…
Temps should shoot up as we go into early next week, but a big drop is lurking for the end of the week. We may also squeeze out another healthy storm system somewhere around this same time period.
Speaking of action, the latest CFS shows a wet next 45 days…
Before I go… 1992, 2009 and 1987. Those are 3 of my analog years that were showing up on the map I shared with you Yesterday. I have several more, but those were the 3 showing up on that particular list. What are the other years I’m looking at? I can’t give away all my secrets. 😉 Maybe, I will throw you some bones in the coming days.
Have a great Tuesday and take care.
Wow, was I off of picking the analog years. It gonna be interested what mother nature will throw at us this winter.
Do I hear the late 70’s. Been the setup for the last two years. Why not three. I hope Mother Nature can freeze the Ohio this year.
were over due in what we experience in the late 70’s. No winters has match that since then. as a kid very well remember it!!!
Thanks Chris. Good morning from Daytona Beach! The weather here was identical both in temp and beauty yesterday. Topped out at 80 here on the beach. A bit cloudy and breezy this morning. Typical Florida weather. I was way off on the analog years yesterday, but was close on at least one of them. Keeping an eye on the weather at home as we aren’t sure which way we will be traveling to get there due to all the flooding in South Carolina. In any event, have a great day and enjoy the beautiful weather. Happy Tuesday everyone!
Back into the 80s AGAIN for my area this week. I’m tired of the back and forth. Everyone keeps calling for a big winter, but I think it will be a blowtorch.
Omg. Stop with the blowtorch talk
But it just seems like its cool for 2-3 days then it gets warm/hot again for a few days.
Its not winter yet…..it just turned fall lol wow
My point is it could be the trend for the winter.
Isn’t spring and fall suppose to be back and forth?
Um, To be honest, I would not mind if we didn’t have a harsh winter after last winter…..I remember how in Nov/Dec we were all so depressed on the blog and then BAAAMMM…Well below zero temps and 2 huge snows…..That is enough to last me at least 3 years…If I could change ONE thing about winter here it would be more sunshine. I’ve never lived in such a cloudy place in the winter here!
Hey Chris. Looking forward to hearing your winter forecast in the coming weeks on your blog. I’m a teacher who definitely loves my winter and my snow days. Thanks for all you do to keep us updated on our KY weather.
I like to visually look at the WxBell temp forecasts for significant cool shots, but it seems like the end result is usually at least 5 degrees warmer than the temperatures forecasted from that source.
Please let me know what the deal is with the three years listed. Im new to the site. Thanks, and by the way…..please bring on the snow, there’s nothing more beautiful!
Chris my memory ain’t what it used to be but I believe those were really mild winters! I’m all for that!
