Good Wednesday to one and all. Quiet and calm fall weather continues for a few more days before changes blow into town. Those changes are courtesy of a fall cold front that comes sweeping into our region from the northwest.
Today and Thursday will be very similar with a mix of sun and clouds with temps in the upper 70s for many. Winds will be a little breezy today, bus should kick it up a notch on Thursday.
Winds will really gust up on Friday as our cold front approaches from the northwest. Showers and thunderstorms will increase during the day and really ramp up during the evening. The European Model continues to develop a wave of low pressure along this front, keeping the rain around into early Saturday…
Decent totals will show up if that is the case…
Temps will come way down and stay in the low and mid 60s for highs on Saturday.
Better weather works in for Sunday and carries us into early next week. Temps will rebound into the upper 60s and low 70s.
The stage is set for a shot of very chilly air to invade later in the week or the following weekend. Timing on these things is tough in a transition season, but you can clearly see the buildup of cold air to our north…
Those numbers are 850mb temps in Celsius and show the widespread cold developing.
Have a great day and take care.
Good morning Chris! Thanks for the update. Glad the weather is good there. It’s been almost identical here in Daytona. Wanted to stress just how serious the flooding is in South Carolina. So bad that we are coming back up I 75 because a large portion of I 95 is closed through Sourh Carolina. Some of the pictures have been amazing. Have a great Wednesday everyone!
Hi Coffeelady!
The rain totals here in SC were phenomenal. I’ve been here since Saturday. I’m at Surfside beach where they only got 12.50″ of rain. The problem here was businesses couldn’t get goods in to keep their businesses open because of the flooding in Columbia and Florence where the goods come from are still flooded. I feel so bad for these people.
Winter is coming.
