Good Tuesday, everyone. Some ugly weather is rolling into the region over the next few days, and this will send our temps into the well below normal range. This chill in the air has been on our radar for the past few weeks, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise to regular readers. 🙂
Let’s begin with today and trudge ahead.
Highs will generally run in the 60s with some isolated showers and thunderstorms going up. This action will really pick up the pace as we roll into Wednesday as a strong cold front dives in from the north. Winds will be very gusty and these storm could contain some small hail. Afternoon readings may drop into the 50s as the chilly air surges in.
This is ugly through Thursday…
Additional showers may be with us Thursday afternoon. Lows to start the day are cold for early May…
Maybe a touch of frost?
Afternoon temps may REALLY struggle for many…
As it stands now, the upper low moves away from the region for Oaks Day and Derby Day. If it works that way, conditions will be much, much better. Derby Day temps may really take off…
While that is great and all, there is a weak front dropping in from the north that can bring some late day showers and thunderstorms…
We really need to be on guard over the next few weeks for a burst of severe weather across our region. The signs are there for multiple events from the plains into the Ohio Valley.
I leave you with your daily dose of radars…
Enjoy the day and take care.
Overall most of us have dodged bad storm issues. Will the streak continue? Will the Reds actually be competitive?
Not as long as you have the Cubs in the NL central. I doubt the Reds winning 50 games this year.
Thanks Chris. I have always heard that if it thunders in February, it will frost in May, so I really cant say I am surprised by the possibility of that taking place. Sometimes I think we gloss over signs that our great grandparents, and in some cases even our parents
used to predict the weather. It seems like your forecasts are more along the line of those signs most of the time. I am actually wearing a jacket today and will probably have on long sleeves tomorrow to combat the cool and rainy conditions it looks like we will be having.
In any event, sorry about the ramble. Have a great Tuesday everyone and thanks again Chris for all you do!
I’m not one for traditions like those you describe because I don’t think they are always accurate. Weather seems so much more dynamic now.
Don’t know Jeff. It seems to me that they are spot on more now than they used to be. At least in my part of the state.
That’s more folklore weather it’s fun but there’s no true science to it much like the groundhog with seeing or not seeing it’s shadow. It’s cute but completely irrelevant.
