Good Friday to one and all. Much better weather is blowing into the bluegrass state today, and this should hang into the first part of Kentucky Derby Weekend. Scattered storms are then going to try and crash the party from late Saturday into Mother’s Day.

Let’s start with Oaks Day. Some clouds will be around this morning with a small shower chance in the east. Farther west, skies turn sunny pretty quickly with readings warming into the upper 60s to low 70s. Things look great out at Churchill Downs.

Temps being that will surge into the upper 70s to low 80s. Once into the late afternoon and early evening, we have to watch the northern sky for a few thunderstorms. A weak boundary drops into the region with an increase in storms. The simulated radar from the NAM from Saturday evening into Mother’s Day…
