Good Saturday, everyone. It’s another day of cool and, sometimes, damp weather across our part of the world. If you’re tired of all this cool weather, I do have some good news. Our pattern is about to go toward a warm/hot one, but I don’t think we will be able to shake the storm threat.

Today’s showers will be on and off across central and eastern Kentucky. A rumble of thunder will be possible, and you will also see a few breaks in the clouds from time to time. Temps generally run in the 60s…

I can’t rule out a lingering shower across the east on Sunday, but most areas stay dry with temps in the low 70s.

Monday and Tuesday look much warmer with highs hitting the low 80s in many areas. Skies should be able to stay dry both days, but that looks to change by Wednesday. That’s when showers and thunderstorms roll back into our region…

GFS

This will unleash a very tropical feeling environment across the region. Humidity levels take off for the second half of the week and this carries us through Memorial Day Weekend. Check out the dewpoints…

GFS TEMPS 2

Forecast temps continue to make a run at 90 degrees…

GFS TEMPS 1

Guess what comes along with the heat and humidity? Rounds of showers and storms…

GFS 2

With so much heat and humidity available, this could finally set the severe weather season off. It could also mean some additional big rain events cause problems in our neck of the woods.

Enjoy your day and take care.
