Good Thursday, folks. We have a very early season taste of the tropics pushing into our part of the world. Toasty temps, high humidity levels and scattered showers and storms will rule our weather lives for a while. For those who were complaining and all the cold weather earlier this month… I don’t want to hear a peep out of you guys. 🙂
Highs today will, again, be all over the place thanks to sun verses storms. From near 80 to the upper 80s will be possible depending on where you live in relation to storms. Those storms will also pack a punch and could put down some very heavy rains.
80s.
More of the same will be around on Friday and into the coming weekend with humidity levels that are way, way up for this time of year. Check out the dewpoint temperatures…
Any day this weekend that has less clouds and storms can make a run at 90…
This same pattern warm and stormy pattern continues into the first few days of June.
The models then start to reverse that trend by late next week into the weekend. As a matter of fact, there continues to be a rather cool pattern showing up. Here’s the European Model for the first weekend of June…
There is currently no big signal for “heat” showing up through the month of June. The 2 week rainfall map from the GFS looks wet for a lot of the country…
Remember me saying a week ago to watch the southeast coast for possible tropical or subtropical development? Well… something is trying to pop there this weekend.
Enjoy the day and take care.
This line of rain is moving through 75 now, as opposed to yesterdays which just died on the vine before it could get here. The power of rushing to rain-x your car windows before it starts always seems to keep the rain at bay until the next day.
If they have a pool, trust me they will find something to complain about.
Love the dewpoint map (not the numbers on it)!
Some interesting reading for the morning.

Wont hear me complaining about this weather!!
Wow I looked at the radar an hour ago and it looked like we were really going get some good rains but now I looked at it and it’s fallen apart for eastern KY wonder why that happens?? Well we will probably get in on it tommorow.I hope everyone has a great and safe Memorial Day weekend.
I think we ended up with almost an inch of rain today in northwest Lexington. I mean, everything is ridiculously lush and green. So pretty. I thought this was going to be a super dry summer. Maybe not. I hope not.
