Good Tuesday, everyone. Rounds of showers and thunderstorms are pushing into the bluegrass state today, and some of these could be strong or severe. This action looks to hang around through Thursday.
Here’s a breakdown of how this may play out:
- Showers and thunderstorms develop in a broken line today with a few possibly going severe. The greatest severe threat appears to be along and south of Interstate 64.
- Clusters of strong to severe storms develop to our northwest and those will dive toward our region. Damaging winds will be the main threat.
- A cold front moves toward the region on Thursday with a line of strong to severe thunderstorms developing ahead of it. Once again, damaging winds will be the main player.
- Heavy rains are a concern over the next 3 days. These storms will be loaded with water and can unleash enough to cause flash flooding.
I have the blog all set to track the action…
Today’s risk area
I will have the very latest on WKYT-TV starting at 4pm. Have a great day and take care.
Requesting rain for my house here in Eubank, it appears to keep dodging us
It’s dry in my area too, but I may be considered heretical for saying it.
From Louisville this afternoon, I saw several clouds that had a round yet smooth appearance, much like lenticular clouds…kinda remind you of flying saucer looking clouds. I hope to post a couple pics from my cheap generic phone once I find the usb….
Didn’t get much rain but lightning knocked out a good bit of Hoptown for a few hours.
Short distances between the rainfall haves and have nots.
Clarksville TN (near the KY line) is only slightly below normal with just over 23 inches rain for the year. Yet go the short hop to Nashville which has recorded only 16.35 inches………nearly an eight inch deficit.
