Good Thursday to one and all. As expected, showers and thunderstorms beat the heat on Wednesday.  We will continue to see that royal battle playing out over the next several days. In the blue corner, we have the reigning champion of the summer… Storms. In the red corner, the up and coming challenger… Steam.

Let’s get ready to rumble! 🙂

Today will feature a similar setup to Wednesday. Scattered showers and storms will go up and those can put down some locally heavy rains. Outside of the storms temps can hit the low 90s with a heat index much warmer. Tracking tools in a bit.

Friday has the chance to be the hottest day of the summer, so far. Once again, storms and clouds will have the final say in all that. 90-95 is possible if we can keep the boomers away. Heat index values may also push 100 if that happens.

The models are showing an increase in weekend storms. Here’s the GFS for Saturday into Sunday…

That action continues into Monday and Tuesday…

Obviously, temps will come down some, but will still be steamy.

Odds continue to favor a strong cold front dropping in as we close July and say hello to August…

GFS 3

Let’s track the action we have out there today…

Make it a great day and take care.
