Good Saturday, everyone. As expected, thunderstorms have been more of a player than the heat in recent days. The two continue to do battle this weekend, but a stormy pattern will win the ultimate fight over the next week and change.
Today’s weather is pretty straightforward. Scattered storms will develop and those can put down some very heavy rains and a lot of lightning. Outside of the storms, temps reach the upper 80s and low 90s with a heat index much higher.
Sunday’s forecast: See Today. 🙂
Storms continue to ramp up early next week. Monday and Tuesday…
The heavy rain threat continues to increase as more widespread showers and storms move in for the middle and end of the week…
That sets the stage for a stronger system to potentially impact the region next weekend…
The models have been advertising this for a while, and show the possibility of a cool shot as we close out the month…
Here are your tracking tools for the day…
Have a great Saturday and take care.
I wouldn’t mind the cool shot, but thunderstorms have been lacking of late in my area.
I wouldn’t mind a cool shot either, and thunderstorms have been lacking in my area too.
Don’t mind the cool shot either, but sure don’t need no more rain been gutted this part of western ky.
It is fairly dry in my part of frankfort, storms always fizzle in my hood?
Thought it odd today to see an area in Ohio where relative lived having a heat advisory with a 90 degree temp. and 100 feel while it was already 92 with a feel of 101 hear and no heat advisory. Not that an advisory is needed just found that strange. The highest reported, according to weather.com was 92 which is what I had on the thermometers here. But mesonet had a high of 89.
I have seen some forecasts of 95 for tomorrow. But I seriously doubt it makes it. These have been off by 3-4 degrees sometimes a little more most of the summer. So hopefully those are wrong again.
