Good Thursday, everyone. A weak boundary has slipped through the region and is slowing down. This means some additional showers and storms out there today. A stronger front moves in this weekend with widespread showers and strong storms. Hang tough… early fall temperatures are on the way next week.
Today’s storms will be scattered and more likely across the southern half of the state. We will have to be on guard for some local high water troubles, again.
Thunderstorms will increase a bit on Friday, and we would get in on a complex or two of storms. The NAM has been hinting at this for a while..
That wouldn’t be good news for the kick off the High School Football season across Kentucky. Hopefully, we can get the storms to take a football break during the evening. 🙂
A powerhouse of a system dives into the region late Saturday and early Sunday. This setup can bring some strong to severe thunderstorms…
Late Saturday into early Sunday could bring some strong storms and flash flooding to parts of our region.
This is being pushed by a significant trough digging into the country…
Mid and upper 70s highs may be common from Sunday through Tuesday. Lows during this time should drop deep into the 50s…
That’s what I’m talking about.
Your tracking toys for the day…
Have a great day and take care.
50’s!
Sweet, sweet 50’s!
If you take a deep enough sniff, you can almost smell that first “Pot of Chili” alert!
I like the way you think, Damaged!
Chili is good anytime.
After a soggy and unbearable hot and humid summer. I’m ready for that refreshing cooler air to filter in !!!!!
Hoping for a few ok hours on Saturday night in Cincy for the game.
Would be nice if all this moisture held off for a few months so we get a good heavy snow.
NWS Louisville has been calling the Winchester KY event a cold air funnel.
Now there are more recent reports of a few brief touchdowns in a field……with brief debris clouds. So perhaps a brief “land spout” (somewhat related to a “fair weather waterspout” as opposed to a tornadic waterspout).
Whatever the case, no injuries or damage which of course is the good news.
In addition, NWS Wilmington OH confirms an EF0 tornado touched down in southern Ohio not too terribly far from the Ohio River (and thus the Kentucky line).
