Good Friday to one and all. We have a strong cold front barreling toward the bluegrass state this weekend. That front may produce some strong storms later Saturday. The bigger news is what’s coming behind it, and that’s an honest to goodness blast of awesomeness. 🙂
Scattered storms will be with us out there today, and a few of those could some local high water issues. These storms may also impact a few of the high school football games, but I don’t anticipate widespread issues.
A storm or two will be around on Saturday as some sunshine and gusty winds take over. This is ahead of the front arriving Saturday night and early Sunday. Some strong to locally severe storms will be possible…
Sunday afternoon begins a flat out awesome stretch of weather in the bluegrass state. Mainly dry conditions take over into the middle of next week as a taste of September blows in. We have had this fairly well covered for a while now, so lets roll ahead.
Another front shows up late next week on the European Model…
That looks a lot like a fall front, stretched out from Canada into the states.
The same model then shows another potent little front moving in late next weekend…
That’s being pushed by another deep trough and cool air…
Here are your Friday tracking toys…
Have a great day and take care.
From the last comments about chili –
I had never had Skyline Chili until yesterday – Does anyone like this? It tastes like nothing but cinnamon to me. I did not like it at all!
Yes I absolutely love Skyline Chili however I do know quite a few people who do not like Skyline Chili not one little bit.
Skyline isn’t great but it tastes like Gordon Ramsey personally made it for you after you try Goldstar. Interestingly, the local pizza place sitting next to the one we’re getting here has better chili and it’s likely just a giant can of Sysco stuff.
There’s supposed to be some local places in the Cincy area that have killer chili but I’ve never ventured up there yet to find out.
Seems most folks outside of Cincinnati dislike Skyline Chili. I live up here and like it but do not love it. For me it’s better than Gold Star though.
Local places to try if you come up here include but are not limited to Dixie Chili and the ‘original’ Camp Washington Chili.

Thank you for the tips!
Glad this is coming to an end!

Preach it brother! My perception is that this was the warmest summer (I count May since it started getting ridiculously warm in the month to Aug as summer) I can remember, so it will be interesting when the final numbers are tallied after a last week or so of cooler here in Aug.
Through yesterday, the average temperature for the summer has been 77.3. If summer ended today, this would be the 7th warmest summer on record in Lexington dating back to 1873.
This is cause for celebration! For the last two months we’ve had basically two types of weather. Either a. It’s storming or b. It’s 100 heat index… No in between. Now it’s time for 3 months of terrific weather!
Let me try this again, http://youtu.be/5c71fm0IVKA
