Good Tuesday to one and all. We are dealing with some very steamy and stormy weather across the bluegrass state. This has been the theme of the summer, but meteorological summer ends with August, so it would be appropriate for September to start with a touch of fall. Well… That’s exactly what is going to happen. 🙂
Today is another steamy day with scattered storms. Blah, blah, blah. Your trackers in a bit.
Scattered storms increase late Wednesday as a strong cold front moves in from the northwest. This front will bring MUCH cooler air coming for the end of the week into the start of the Labor Day Weekend…
The weekend as a whole looks dry and pretty darn awesome!
The same can’t be said for folks across the eastern Gulf and across the southeastern seaboard. The tropics are really kicking it up…
My concern with the Gulf system is that it may hug the coast all the way up to North Carolina. Some models even try to pull this system back toward the west. The GFS is now onto this…
The Canadian is REALLY onto it…
The models also continue to bring another big tropical system toward the southeast next week…
Here are your storm tracking tools for the day…
Have a great day and take care.
My A/C went out yesterday morning and due to mandatory obligations at work I can’t get it fixed until Thursday so my high tolerance for heat and affinity for the Heat Miser is being tested. It was 88 degrees in my house when I got home last night. 🙂
Ugh, 88 degrees in the house, I don’t know how you can sleep at night. Makes you think about all those years when there was no A/C and how miserable it had to be for everyone back then. Hope you had the fans going full blast.
Yikes. Looks like it’s damp sheets and a fan on you for sleeping with at least some comfort. Hope that gets fixed for you asap.
We put in a new unit about 2 years ago. Thing just keeps freezing up because the inside fan will not kick on. Has been “fixed” several times. The guy comes out today and replaces 2 parts that where already replaced before. The company for the units wanted them both replaced at the same time. Ran a good few hours but never really cooled the house below what the start temp. was. Then randomly the unit started kicking on and off and our electric was flicking. Finally it stopped. The outside unit was still running but the inside unit was not blowing.
Issue is that it has been down for most of the summer. I just hope the company tech. the installer has to call gets out soon. But at the typical pace we are talking a month or more. I am upset but the wife wants to see if they replace it with a new on this time.
In the mean time we just get more in the house temps. at night of 80+. For some reason even fans in the windows will not cool it down much. Really hope the heat breaks soon. I can tolerate it during the day. Working outside or running even. But I cannot sleep when it is hot like that. And I have enough trouble with sleep the way it is.
