Good Wednesday, everyone. We have some ugly weather rolling into the region for the next several days. This will bring some cool to chilly afternoon highs, and rounds of gusty showers and thunderstorms. All of this from an upper level low cutting off across the region.
Today will start dry with showers and thunderstorms quickly increasing. Winds will be very gusty as a cold front slams in here with temps dropping into the low 60s by late afternoon. Follow along…
Additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms will spin across the region from Thursday through the first half of Saturday. This can lead to some locally heavy rains. You can actually see the spin show up on the likely overdoneĀ NAM rainfall totals through Friday…
Daytime highs will be on the cool to chilly side with low and mid 60s a good bet. A few spots may see highs stay in the upper 50s on any day featuring wall to wall clouds and showers.
The upper low pulls away Saturday night, leaving better weather for Sunday into early next week. From there, this pattern is taking on a very extreme look. We’re likely to see a big cold shot diving into the country by the middle and end of next week. At the same time, Matthew will likely be coming out of the Caribbean toward the eastern Gulf or off the southeastern coast.
The GFS is much faster than the European Model with a possible impact centered on the east coast early next week…
The European is more toward the end of next week but shows a similar trough digging in and potentially interacting with the tropical system…
That’s a wicked looking setup.
Have a great day and take care.
Why does google say “this site may be hacked” for kyweathercenter?
Same reason it just sent my comment into cyberspace I guess
Well I hope that Matthew stays off the coast and waits until the end of the week to skirt the coast. Leaving tomorrow headed south and do not want bad weather. Either way, looks like if this outlook holds, I am going to be travelling in rain and I HATE to travel in rain. Oh well.
Today so far is beautiful, but I anticipate that is going to change too, by the look of the radar. OK, okay…I give up UNCLE. Let the cooler weather commence š Thanks Chris. Have a great Hump Day everyone.
Thanks Chris. I hope that Matthew stays of the coast and away until
the end of the weekend next week. Leaving tomorrow to go that direction and I don’t want bad weather. Todays weather here is absolutely beautiful today so far, but I guess that is about to change soon, from the look of the radar. Okay, okay…..UNCLE. Let the cooler temps commence! Have a great Hump Day everyone!
Getting nice and warm out ahead of the front here in Lexington. 75 and sunny at the moment!
Not where I’m at it the weather has been nothing but junk since about 8am. Rainy occasionally heavy at times dreary damp and chilly the rain has been keeping temps from going nowhere, where I’m at upper 50’s at best. I absolutely despise cut off low’s.
SUNNY and 77 here at my house
Absolutely gorgeous day in Perry co. Sunny 80 with a stout breeze.. And very low humidity.
Around 80 and no rain here in Harlin either…hoping the models are wrong with the rain staying mostly north of SE KY…really need it down here.
Clouds now chasing away the sunshine in Nashville. But earlier in the afternoon while driving back to the office, the car thermometer indicated 83 degrees.
Although it’s been a rather dry month, Nashville only has about a two inch deficit for the year. But parts of east Tennessee (especially Chattanooga/Cleveland TN area where my folks live) are in a bad drought so unsurprising southeast Kentucky is feeling the effects.
Matthew looking more and more like a Fish OTS..Who knows maybe a brush along the East Coast..Was really hoping for some slow rain for a few days in EKY but not gonna happen..
