Good Thursday, everyone. It may be quiet across the bluegrass state, but things are really cranking up across the southeastern seaboard. Hurricane Matthew is a monster of a storm taking aim at Florida today and Friday. I will have all your tracking toys in a bit.
We won’t feel a direct impact from Hurricane Matthew, but some moisture out ahead of this storm may move into eastern Kentucky. The NAM is brining some showers across the east Friday into Friday night…
We have a cold front ready to roll our way to start the upcoming weekend. This cold front moves in early Saturday with very gusty winds and just a small shower chance. Temps will be in the 60s, but quickly drop into the 50s before sundown.
The models are still trying to spit out a few upper 30s by Sunday morning…
I have you all set with all your tropical tracking tools. This includes the interactive radar that includes a ton of awesome tools such as live video streams fromĀ storm chasers in the path of Matthew…
Have a great day and take care.
Is some of the models still projecting the hurricane to go round in circles. What I mean will the hurricane Circle back to Florida.
That’s relatively way out in the future and models are of course less accurate that far out. But interesting that now there are several models showing a loop, so who knows. Hurricanes have made loops on rare occasions. But even if Matthew does make a loop, it may end up being much weaker by the time it returns to Florida again.
Matthew is getting stronger again, and N-a-s-s-a-u may be about to get a direct hit š . Scary.
There was a gust of 144 mph measured elsewhere in the Bahamas a few hours ago.
Great update and extra toys!
Thanks always, Chris.
It almost a cat 5 now as of noon…not good for Florida.
Correction..winds are 140…I looked at the data incorrectly thinking it was near 150…but that may change in a few hours.
Wow, that loop on that hurricane path is insane. I wonder if it could re-intensify into a hurricane and hit the coast again.
