Good Wednesday to one and all. We have a series of cold fronts ready to press across the region over the next few weeks. Each passing front should be able to produce better rain chances and deliver colder shots of air than the one before it.

The first front arrives tonight into Thursday morning and will have a broken band of showers and thunderstorms working in from the west. This band is likely to fade some as it rolls toward the east…

Temps on Thursday will generally be in the low and middle 60s on gusty northerly winds. Overnight lows by Friday morning should drop toward the upper 30s and low 40s, but clouds could keep those numbers up a bit if they hold tough.

The models are now back to showing a small system that can overachieve in terms of rainfall Friday through early Saturday. The NAM is really hitting the threat pretty hard…

The GFS is also jumping on board, albeit not as widespread…

gfsAnother cold front then sweeps through on Sunday…

With some rain around, temps on Sunday may hang in the 60s for highs. The numbers will then bounce back up by Monday into Tuesday, ahead of another cold front arriving late Tuesday into Wednesday…

The models are then waffling a little bit on how to handle the systems coming in behind this. The GFS now has a MUCH colder look with a couple of clipper looking systems diving in.

And then one that looks straight out of winter…

The European isn’t as cold, but sings a similar tune…

Enjoy the day and take care.
