Good Sunday, everyone. Election week is upon us and the weather looks like it is ready to change things up a bit. As a matter of fact, next weekend could feature a healthy cold blast, with the first hint of winter a possibility.

Today and Monday will feature nice conditions with frosty cold mornings and afternoon sunshine.

Election Day itself will feature windy weather with an increase in clouds. These clouds are a head of a cold front that can bring some late day showers into town. The best chance comes Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. The GFS is the most impressed with this chance…

Temperatures behind that on Wednesday should stay in the 50s.

Winds will then gust up Thursday and Friday ahead of a big push of cold air into the eastern part of the country. As one would imagine, we see the typical model fluctuations taking place. A few of the recent runs of the GFS were absolutely frigid with snow showers next weekend.

The latest run isn’t as robust, but still plenty cold with an outside shot at a flake mixing in with rain showers…

The European Model is the coldest of them all, but is slightly farther east with the trajectory of the cold…

Given the VERY warm waters of the Great Lakes, the exact flow with a cold shot like that is going to be the difference in snowflakes flying all the way into the southern apps, or into only the highest mountains to our east.

Looking past that and into the following week, we find the ensembles showing some potential…

Have a great Sunday and take care.
