Good evening, everyone. We continue to keep our eyes on the pattern as we roll into Christmas weekend. This is the “Grinch” storm that will steal any chance of us getting a White Christmas.
Let me start by showing how cold things got this morning…
Lots of single digits were showing up and blowing the computer forecasts out of the water. 🙂
The weekend system throws the first shot of rain at us Friday night into Saturday. Can the leading edge of that start as a touch of sleet? That’s a possibility that shows up on the NAM…
The GFS also shows this possibility…
Some healthy rains move through here on Christmas Eve with the main storm moving in here on Monday…
Winds will be very gusty with temps surging toward 60 late Christmas Day into Monday.
How much rain may fall from Friday night through Monday? The GFS shows better than an inch…
Another system will follow that up by the middle of next week into New Years Weekend. I will touch on that later tonight.
Enjoy the evening and take care.
Hot spot in Harlan…never got really cold here with this recent cold shot which is fine by me if the snow stays away.
I hate cold, dry weather anyways.
No snow means I am now rooting for record-breaking warmth.
It will probably be a temp rollercoaster winter, with us probably on the south side of the action. Rain and mix.
So how long will the heat wave last?
Mid Jan with a few cold shots. IMO
I thought I might see some snow in Toronto on my visit over Christmas weekend…looks like the rain will follow me there too.
Last Christmas… nearly 4″ of rain and nearly 70 degrees. This Christmas…rain (hopefully much less) and low to mid 60s. Almost a carbon copy.
new mexico gets a white Christmas but we get warm rain for half a decade. what the crap man? bizarro world. thats why the song says dreaming of a white Christmas cause thats the only place we ll find one.
The only snow Louisville has seen this year came off the top of an RV traveling down I65 toward Fl. License plate was Michigan nonetheless. LOL.
