Good evening, everyone. I don’t have a whole lot of changes to my earlier thoughts as this pattern is loaded for bear in the coming days. Lots of wind and water is on the way to the bluegrass state.
Heavy rain and thunder moves back in on Thursday and can cause some local high water issues into Friday morning. That system sets the stage for a MUCH bigger system later this weekend into early next week. Look at this monster…
Watch how all the rain and storms spin around this system…
That’s from the European Model and it’s a look that can produce some flooding issues at some point. The latest rain forecast from the GFS continues to show 4″+ inches in parts of the region…
With a saturated ground and swollen waterways, flooding is a real possibility. Highs winds will also be a huge player during this time.
A winter look follows all that later next week …
A full update comes your way later tonight. Enjoy the evening and take care.
Hoping between Chris mentioning it and the signs I see on my weather app we can have some winter weather in about 12 days or so.
I’m no model reader. But I am a Chris’ blog reader and a weather app reader and I see snowflakes in the future.
Just hope they don’t “disappear” like they have at other times this winter.
You will see as we get closer to the forecasted cold and snow reality will set in and modified temps will be the actual reality. Been this way all winter.nothing against cb and he may be right. But I have serious doubt.
And the farmer hauled another load away…
Well, our monsters storms have been and are rain events, which kind of not exactly sets the stage for monster expectations for snow.
Lost of mud seems the main theme this winter.
Yawn meter sitting at 10!!!!
I’m with you Bjenks, be careful though, some sensitive souls may not like your opinion haha
Nobody is sensitive. You’re just annoying.
Like I said haha
Thanks Chris! Glad you all are still on the air for your local Dish customers. They’ll need you the next week or so.
Not looking good for Winter fans, when the local forecasts in the tri-state area have nighttime lows warmer than the normal high temps in the daytime for the next week. Reminds me of December 2015.
And after that winter makes a return for all of Feb and possibly March.
I don’t know. We have went most of Dec. and Jan. with not even a famous week away scare. We are only about three or four weeks away from average day time highs nearing 50. Even a whopper in March is not going to stick around long. Would be fun though.
I hope you are right. But I just have a feeling this year is going to be dud. Been way too warm for too long.
That does not mean that it can’t flip and stay cold for awhile. 2013 and a few years before had warm Dec and Jan only to end up with a cold and snowy Feb and March.
