Good evening, folks. Winter is finally blowing back into the bluegrass state as a cold front crosses the region. This will bring along snow showers and flurries in the coming days, with a slightly bigger system for Sunday. The longer range also continues to look very active.

There’s not much more to say about the rounds of snow showers and flurries coming from tomorrow through Saturday. It’s not going to snow all the time, with minor accumulations likely a good bet from time to time. That will especially be true at night.

The greatest chance for widespread accumulating snow comes Sunday into Sunday night. That can cause a few travel issues.

Notice the band of snow showing up behind that front? That seems to be getting a little stronger with each run.

The GFS continues to trend colder and farther south with the big storm system coming

That continues to match up well with the pattern showing up on the GFS Ensembles. They have been showing the Ohio Valley being the target of winter weather and some possible winter storms. The latest run for the next few weeks…
