Good evening, everyone. We’re putting the wraps on a calm and quiet Groundhog Day across the bluegrass state. This calm weather lasts for a few more days and then things get cranking with a big storm system early next week.

With a faster and stronger arrival of this storm, it’s basically shredding the Super Bowl Sunday system. That thing zips through here early in the morning with a touch of light rain and snow, but nothing more. Afternoon readings will surge into the 40s with a 50 in the south and west.

Temps will then take off by Monday and Tuesday as we find ourselves ahead of this major storm cranking to our west. As that swings through here on Wednesday, temps absolutely crash….

That’s a big time wind maker, too.

Here’s how that system plays out every 6 hours from Monday through Wednesday…

That’s from the European Model and it shows heavy rain and storms to some wraparound snows by Wednesday.

The Canadian Model has a similar evolution, but handles this thing just a bit differently. It keeps showing a better snow threat behind it…

The afternoon run of the GFS has the similar snow system showing up after the main storm goes through. Check this out…
