Good Saturday, everyone. Our weather out there today, slowly improves with much better conditions rolling in for Sunday. Please make plans to enjoy that because some ugly stuff is on the way for next week. Heavy rain and thunderstorms will give way to very chilly temps by the end of the week.
Low clouds will give way to some afternoon sunshine with temps climbing into the 50s for many. If the clouds stay tough in the east, those areas may struggle to 50.
Sunday looks much better with upper 60s to low 70s under a mix of sun and clouds.
Those clouds are ahead of another potent storm system that will bring heavy rain and thunderstorms back in here for Monday and Tuesday…
That pulls away with some good stuff returning for Wednesday. That won’t last very long as the pattern goes the other way. The setup for late Thursday and Friday takes on a winter look with a storm system digging in here…
Thunderstorms and gusty winds will introduce a nice little cold shot and the outside threat for some snowflakes to mix in with cold showers…
That is flat out ugly!
Speaking of ugly, check out the rain numbers for next week as a whole…
By the way, the cold shot for the end of next week isn’t going to hang with us very long. Above normal temps surge back in here by later next weekend…
Have a great Saturday and take care.
These cool snaps are transitory now, so it’s all good! 😉
Chris said’s it all in his first paragraph of today’s weather discussion. I do think however, that the severe weather next week will stay along the gulf coast. This almost always prevents moisture from the gulf moving north into our area. With all do respect Chris, I don’t agree with those rainfall totals for next week. I agree, that we will have a deepening trough at the end of the week, which will bring below normal temp,s and showers. Have a great Saturday, and don’t let anyone fool you. LOL
Thanks Schroeder and Chris. Love your comments and Chris’ Blog.
You aren’t disagreeing with Chris about the rainfall totals because he didn’t SAY those are his prediction numbers. Like much of what you see here on the blog this far out, it’s for discussion only as one possible solution to the future.
If CB says something will happen directly, THEN you can disagree legitimately without it looking like you’re trying to stir up things for no reason whatsoever. He’s far from infallible but at least keep your arguments fair and not try to invent things to contradict.
Thanks Chris. I’ve seen redbuds and dogwoods blooming so I suspect the short cold snap will be in relation to the redbuds. Dogwood winter usually lasts a week or more. Look for it closer to Easter. Need some sun today so we can get the daughters yard mowed.. Havea great Saturday everyone!
The cold snap is due to a quick pattern change it has literally nothing to do or any relation with the redbuds and dogwoods. A weather pattern/jet stream change could literally careless about the redbuds and the dogwoods or the price of gas, that’s a fact. I’m sorry that’s just weather folklore there’s no science behind that.
Ugh. Feel sorry for all the kiddos on spring break next week. Or at least sorry for the ones who don’t get to go on a vacation and are staying here. Looks like it is going to warm up just when the break is over.
The talk of ugly next week…what about today? It is barely 50 in SE KY after 3PM…yuck! April is another irritating month for green thumbs but at least the cold spells are shorter and less harsh than March!
temp 47 in frankfort with clouds ugggg, the 50s with sun is a no show.
55° at 3:30 in BG. Hubs tried to fish with my youngest this morning and it was just too cold! Tiny bit of sun popping out now… Ready for a nice day tomorrow!
