Good Saturday and welcome to a sensational spring weekend in the bluegrass state. Sunny skies and mild temps will give way to sunny skies and warm temps by Sunday. This is all part of a setup that’s skewed warmer and stormier than normal for the rest of the month.
Highs today are in the 60s for many with a 70 in the west. Some mid and upper 70s show up on Sunday on a nice southwesterly wind.
Some areas could flirt with 80 on Monday with that southwesterly wind becoming very gusty. This is ahead of a cold front that can bring some strong storms into town by Tuesday…
A storm may linger into early Wednesday with another storm chance by Friday or Saturday. Rounds of severe storms will begin to target the plains states for the week ahead, then slowly shift back into our region the following week.
This trend shows up well on the 2 week rainfall map from the GFS…
How about the temps during this time? There’s a whole lot of warmer than normal showing up…
Enjoy this gorgeous Saturday and take care.
Meanwhile, in Newfoundland…

OH MYYYYY STARS!
I love snow, but that would be horrible to experience snow on that level!
About our weather – I thought we were going into a stormy period but other than the severe day we had earlier this week, it’s been pure calm.
And some people in KY complained over getting a good ground cover during the past couple of winters…smh
As Chris said in this morning’s weather blog, it’s going to be very pleasant weather through this weekend and most of next week, due to developing high pressure ridging over the central plains. The only chances of showers are Tuesday and Friday. These, showers I don’t feel will reach severe limits. Next weekend and the following week, the weather becomes very stormy in the central plains and maybe move into the Ohio valley, but it’s too early to tell. Have a great Saturday.
You just basically reiterated the same thing CB said, just in Schroeder lingo. Well at least your not being contradictive so it’s a start.
