Good Sunday and Happy Easter, everyone. Our big day is a warm one, but scattered showers and thunderstorms threaten to crash a few of those egg hunts. Today’s boomers will likely lead us back into a fairly stormy setup for the week ahead.

Highs today will generally be in the 70s for many areas. Showers and storms will be scattered, with the greatest concentration coming later this afternoon and evening. A few of the storms may even be strong or locally severe…

Scattered showers and storms will then roll into Monday as a front puts the brakes on across the region. The best chance for Monday storms will be across the southern half of the state.

From there, it’s game on for rounds of showers and thunderstorms for the upcoming week.

These rounds through the middle of the week come at us from west to east…

Late in the week, a potent system may develop in the plains and roll toward the Great Lakes. That may orient the storms in more of a southwest to northeast fashion…

That setup can put down some heft rain totals in our part of the world.

Happy Easter and take care.
