Good Friday to one and all. Today is another ugly looking Friday, but much better weather is on the way for the weekend. This setup will then lead us into a pattern that will feature a blast of early season heat and humidity rolling in next week.

Highs today will be all over the place as gusty showers roll through here. The best chance for rain is across the central and eastern part of the state, with some decent rain totals possible. This could lead to a few high water issues…

The rain will then move away from us overnight, with nice stuff moving back in for Saturday. Some fog in the morning will give way to sunshine and temps in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Mother’s Day looks even better with sunny skies and temps nearing 80 for many across the Commonwealth. This will set the stage for a big ridge of high pressure to control the weather across the eastern part of the country…

That should lead to hot weather for this area and for many in the east and southeast. Temps by the middle of the weak may make a run at 90…

Some storms could try to crash the party by the end of next week, but the heat may be tough to beat. Check out the highs by next weekend…

The warmer this pattern gets, the better the chance for our severe weather season to crank, especially with deep troughs digging into the west and Mississippi Valley.

Have a great day and take care.
