Good Wednesday, everyone. A potent system is working across the region today, touching off showers and thunderstorms. This is ahead of another shot of much cooler than normal air that sticks around for a few days. By the weekend, we reverse the temps, only to see them slide again early next week. Got the Dramamine ready?
With the temp swings will come rounds of showers and thunderstorms. The action out there today will feature gusty winds and I can’t rule out some strong or severe storms with damaging winds and large hail. There’s also some shear available to get a few storms to spin. That’s something to keep in mind this afternoon…
Watch for some hefty rainers that can also cause local high water concerns.
Highs today are generally in the 60s with even cooler air coming for Thursday. This will be underneath wraparound showers across central and eastern Kentucky…
Winds will be gusty, giving us a pretty ugly look and feel.
Much warmer air then surges in here for Friday, touching off some late day showers and storms…
This sets the stage for rounds of showers and storms for the big Memorial Day Weekend. Here’s your Saturday…
Saturday night into Sunday could be especially stormy…
Strong storms and local high water issues may wind up becoming a problem again this weekend.
There’s a little good news in Memorial Day itself may try to clean up during the afternoon and evening. That’s with a pretty stout front working in…
That’s ahead of another push of cooler than normal air engulfing the eastern half of the country…
That’s likely to set up another temperature battle with more showers and storms kicking back in. Ugh.
Have a great day and take care.
Thanks Chris, Maybe the weather will change between now and the Memorial day weekend for the better. I’am enjoying the cool temperatures, as it’s bound to get hotter latter in the season. It’s still early, and I hope that summer doesn’t last all the way through December. It seems, that we don’t have fall like I grew up with back in the 1950’s and 60’s. Have a great day everyone.
Dalton GA police scanner….debris, overturned vehicle, trees and wires blocking roadway to nursing home. There was a tornado-warned storm for the area a little while ago
Video of ground “circulation” just east of Nashville TN not far from me.

There were Severe T-Storm Warnings for other areas but I’m not aware of any warnings for Nashville/eastern Davidson County. Without the benefit of seeing the radar data, possible landspout funnel that didn’t touch down? Anyway, NWS Nashville says it is looking into the video.
It got crazy here in Flatwoods a little bit ago. We went from no rain to absolutely pouring to tornado sirens going off. I was trying to drive home and the roads were like rivers and could barely see to drive. There was rotation and some got pics of funnel cloud but it never touched down. We wernt even in the tornado watch area.
