Good Wednesday to one and all. The 4th of July holiday is now in our rear view, but a similar weather setup is carrying us through the rest of the week. Rounds of showers and storms will continue to rumble across the region through Friday, and some could be on the strong side.

This is a pattern I’ve been setting the stage for since early last week. Here’s a map I posted on the blog one week ago today…

I realize your weather apps and the walking\talking versions of weather apps have been telling you something different, but you can’t lump me into that category. 😉

We have another wave of low pressure working across the state later today into tonight. This will bring more showers and storms, with heavy rain and strong storms possible.

Here’s what you need to track today’s potential…

Another low moves in for Thursday with more rounds of showers and thunderstorms. Just like today, strong storms and heavy rainfall will be possible. We need to keep an eye on the local flash flood threat over the next few days.

A cold front then works in here Friday evening with… Wait for it… Wait for it… more showers and possible strong storms…

Much cooler air arrives this weekend with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s, lows in the 50s and with low humidity levels. This weekend looks absolutely fantastic!! The normal to below normal temps carry us into early next week, but storm chances look to return.

Have a great 5th of July and take care.
